‘Park Hopping’ to Return for Walt Disney World Theme Parks Starting on January 1st, 2021

Unlike it’s sister resort in California, the Walt Disney World Resort has been in the process of a phased re-opening over the past few months. When the theme parks first re-opened in July, fans were bummed as it was announced that being able to ‘Park Hop’ from park to park would not be offered during the first phase. However, today Disney has shared that the Park Hopper option will be returning on January 1st, 2021. Although, there are a couple of modifications that have been made.

With the new updated experience, guests will have to make a theme park reservation as usual for the first theme park in which they choose to visit. The park that the reservation is made for has to be the exact park that guests have to visit prior to entering the second park of their choice. As of right now there is no requirement for a theme park reservation for the second park.

There will also be a set time in which all guests who have purchased a ticket or who have an annual pass with park hopper benefits will be allowed to enter the second park. Starting at 2:00 p.m. guests will be able to enter their second theme park of the day and stay in that park until park closing or whenever they decide to leave. Disney has stated that guests should always be checking for up to date information on the ‘My Disney Experience’ app, as some days may start at an earlier time for the park hopper hours.

Park Hopping is subject to capacity at all the 4 Disney World theme parks. For guests looking to join the fight with the Resistance on Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, they will not be able to join the virtual queue if that specific park is their second of the day. It will be interesting however to see how this is enforced as now theme park visitors are able to join the virtual queue from any location on the resort. Adding the park hopper option to a normal theme park ticket ranges from $60-$90 added on the normal price of the single day single park tickets.
