[Orlando, FL] Universal Orlando Resort has announced that the fan favorite Mardi Gras event will still take place this year beginning on February 6th and running until March 28th! However, with the current times the event will look a lot different this year compared to years prior. Mardi Gras 2021: International Flavors of Carnaval will focus on authentic cuisine inspired by the most iconic Carnival festivities across the globe. The event will take place daily at the Universal Studios Florida theme park and will be the first ever dynamic celebration of food and entertainment!
There will be over 70 delectable dishes and beverages from 13 different locations scattered through the park. These booths will feature dishes from all over the world including New Orleans, Germany, Brazil, Trinidad, Puerto Rico, Australia, Bahamas, Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Cuba, France, Italy, and Spain. Different Carnaval themed food options will also be available in CityWalk and at some of the Universal Orlando Resort Hotels! This year Universal will be offering a tasting lanyard (details coming soon), this will allow guests to enjoy and taste many of the different options at one price. They have even hinted at a UOAP exclusive tasting lanyard which is super exciting. Some of the food items that guests can enjoy at the event are Pork Schnitizel Sliders, Beignets, Pina Verde, Jerk Chicken, and much more!

Universal Studios Florida will be completely decked out in Mardi Gras decor during the run of the event. Despite the parade not happening this year due to obvious reasons, guests will still be able to get an up close look at many of the Mardi Gras parade floats stationed throughout the theme park. Of course, what would be Mardi Gras without beads, well keep an eye out for roaming entertainment and stilt walkers as you might just catch some throwing beads to guests.
One experience that has become a fan favorite at Universal Studios Florida is their seasonal ‘Tribute Stores’. This year they are introducing their second ever Mardi Gras themed Tribute Store that will feature a couple different rooms with plenty of photo opportunities.
- A hopping jazz parlor straight out of the 1920s with dueling pianos and bellowing brass
- A flower-filled nautical cemetery, where many sea captains were laid to rest
- A waterfront warehouse, where all manner of smuggled treasures and trinkets are stashed
There’s something to do for everyone at the International Flavors of Carnaval, whether you enjoy relaxing and enjoying the music at the Music Plaza Stage, or the excitement of the all new Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt, Universal Orlando has it all!
